We are often asked if campfires are allowed and our response is always OF COURSE, YOU'RE CAMPING!  We do not place a curfew on fires, however we do ask that you adhere to our quiet hours while you enjoy your fire.

We do require that all wood burned in the park is local wood, from within 50 miles of the area.  The Maine Forest Service and the U.S. Forestry Service have informed us, and other campgrounds in the area, that it is of the utmost importance that firewood not be brought into the state from out of state or out of country.   We do sell firewood, however if you can provide a receipt that the wood has been purchased locally, then we are willing to allow you to burn that  wood.

Following are links to information from the Maine Forest Service.  We hope that you read them and educate yourselves on the potential  ecological dangers of moving wood.
